At the sister-in-law's house again this weekend for a reunion of sorts with old friends and neighbors of my wife's. Have seen 2 movies while here. Hearts In Atlantis with Anthony Hopkins and In Good Company with Dennis Quaid and Topher Grace. Both were very good for different reasons and both were different than what I expected. Strangely though, they both seemed to feature the same theme of maturing in life and opening up to possibilities. Watch 'em back to back and see what I mean. Some great acting in both and good stories.

When I get back next week I will be starting to work on editing down all the hours of footage i have for the Curling Club 50th Anniversary video.

talk to you soon.

Hi again folks,
it has been a bit, but I have been so very busy this summer. Lots of traveling, and Alena is getting older now, and more of a handful!

I went to see the Fantastic Four movie last night. Pretty good. They screwed around a bit with the origin and Dr. Doom was pretty lame. They really didn't give him anything to do. He killed a few people but that was it. They didn't really establish his villiany altogether that well. Too much talking. Bad metal-rock peppered the soundtrack and many times inappropriately in my opinion. Highlights include the interplay between Michael Chiklis as the Thing and the guy whose name I can't remember as the Human Torch. The pretty much stole the show. Jessica Alba's breasts threatened to spill out of her costume a few times, but they never did. Special effects were pretty good, and honestly, despite lots of kvetching by fans, I liked the Thing's latex costume. It looked more real than CGI would have and added to the emotional center that his character was. Some of the best moments were his realization that his new condition has taken away his ability to do even the simplest of things like dial a phone or pick up a ring or use a fork properly.

On the whole I would give it a solid "B-". Better than the Hulk movie, but not quite as good as the X-men and certainly not as good as Spiderman.

that's all the time I have for now. I am working slowly on my Remnants cartoons. I did scan the new ones into my computer, but haven't uploaded them yet.
