FINALLY!

Okay, I finally finished up to my satisfaction that comic strip that has been sitting on my drawing board for the last several months. I used the pro white to fix a few errors and to create a "snow" effect for a few wintry panels. I also dragged out the scraps of zip-a-tone I have left and added some tones to a few panels. Can't wait to get this one Xeroxed and scanned! I now have about 4 or 5 new cartoons I have completed in the last year and a half or so. Glacial pace, I know, but better than nothing. The baby and life in general really keep me busy!

I am going to get started on a new cartoon this weekend. I hope that this one doesn't take me 5 months to complete like the last one!

I finally had some time to sit down and watch a movie yesterday. I popped in one of my Godzilla movies and it really brought me back. I need to make more time for Godzilla movies in my life. And you should too! Feel the Cheese!

Wow,

has it been a month already since I last posted? I guess so.

Alena is keeping us both very busy. She just started to crawl! My little girl is growing up so fast! Sniff Sniff... Check out here for the latest photos!

Emily has been in LA this last week for a big electronics conference, E3 for those of you in the know, so I have been playing the Michael Keaton role of Mr. Mom, which has been a lot of fun, but hard work. Alena really demands a lot of attention...and of course I want to give it to her! :) She is an absolute joy to have around.

On the comic strip end of things, I finally did bust out the Pro White and fixed up the latest strip, but I'm still not done with it. I decided it needed some snow effects for some backgrounds, so I have to work up some mattes to mask off the areas I don't want covered by flying whiteout! Plus I think I want to see if any of my old Zip-a-tone sheets will still work. Needles to say, the work on the updated web-site is coming slowly.

I have a couple of quick one-off projects I have in mind that I'll tell you more about later if and when they come to reality. Things to get my feet wet again before tackling the vastness of a 200 page book.

I just found out that another side project I am going to work on was just approved. I am going to create a documentary feature about the Curling Club I belong to. Next year is the 50th Anniversary of the club and I am going to document the season and pepper it liberally with remembrances of the early days from some of the older members. It is going to take me almost a full year to complete this project, but I am really looking forward to it! The plan is to make it available for sale at the end of next season, so I'll let you have the details as soon as they become available.

Saw Van Helsing over the weekend with my brother and his fiancee. We all agreed that it was fun, but lacked a coherent story, fleshed out characters, and left way too many questions unanswered. I think this one is worth a look on video when it comes out, unless you are really jonesing for a Hugh Jackman fix.

that's all for now.
