hey gang,

glacial pace, I know, but another panel is done! only 5 more to go to finish my current strip. Good news is that I have sketched out outlines for 2 more strips so far, so I will be keeping myself busy.

i did get out to the movies with Emily this weekend while grandma babysat. We went to see STARSKY and HUTCH with our friend Lisa. VERY FUNNY! We all liked it a lot. Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson are quickly becoming a reliable comedy team. They need to do more movies together! Todd Phillips, the director is starting to establish himself in my mind as someone who can deliver. I liked Road Trip and loved Old School. I think he will be someone to watch in the future. I may even go so far as to crown him the new Ivan Reitman, except better.

I have been listening a lot to my company issue iPod lately. An insanely cool device if i do say so myself. It has really changed the way i listen to music. I now carry around with me slightly over 2000 songs all the time, so any one of them is instantly accessible. Much neater on long car trips too. i don't have to decide which of my CDs to bring...they are already loaded on my iPod! Awesome! i find myself strapping it on while doing the dishes and making baby bottles at the end of the day. Cool stuff!

alright already, enough with the blatant product placement!

ciao for now folks, see you soon!

Howdy gang,

I've been putting in some time designing the new portal image for Dougside Online version 3. Its been a lot of fun, and I am going for a different kind of look for this version. Should be fun...can't wait to show it off to you all! Remember I am planning on launching sometime in early May, to commemorate the 7th anniversary of my web prescence. I first launched a website on May 5th, 1997 on geocities.com and I haven't looked back.

Strap yourselves in folks, should be a good ride this year!

PS. Any suggestions you might have for the re-design? Send 'em along! email link is to the left!

hey gang,

I've been dashing off ideas in my sketchpad the last few days for the new website makeover. I even popped open Photoshop to do a little pre-lim graphics work! I have decided that re-vamping the website is step one in the process. Once I have that up and running, I will be creating new content and re-opening the on-line store. That will be step 2. Step 3 is publishing Anti-Social Lawnmower. Timeline evolves as such in my mind:

Launch of new website: By May 2004
Create new content and re-open On-line store: On-going after May 2004
Publication of Book: Fall of 2004 (September/October)
World Domination should follow sometime in the spring of 2006.

duty now,

Howdy gang,

I'm sure you have no doubt noticed a few small changes on the Dougside Portal page. More changes are coming. I am planning on completely overhauling the Dougside site within the next few months. It is just a matter of finding the time to do it.

The old site is still up and running and will continue to do so until the new site is ready for battle. I will probably roll out some small changes as they are ready, butit will probably be a few moths before anything really exciting takes place. I just wanted to let you know that the wind of change was in the air here at Dougside Central!

Talk to you all soon,

---Doug

hey gang, sorry I haven't posted in a bit. I have been pretty busy. I wish I could say I have been busy drawing, but that'd be a lie.

I have a lot to catch up on.

First, and most heartbreakingly, our little bundle of love, Maggie, my wife's pet chihuahua of 13 years, passed away suddenly on February 22. we are still in shock and miss her very much. Anyone who ever met her knows how wonderful she really was.

I guessed 19 out ot 23 categories right this year to win the Oscar Pool. It was a far cry better than last year when I only got 5 right!

Finally saw BUBBA HO-TEP starring Bruce Campbell as a geriatric Elvis teaming up with Ossie Davis as JFK to fight an undead mummy who is stealing the souls of hapless convalescents at their nursing home. This movie rocked in so many ways! If you get an opportunity to see it, please do so...you won't regret it!

In other sad news, I dismantled my Cafepress.com Dougside store tonight. I hadn't done much with it in a while and hadn't made any sales in a while either. I AM planning on re-launching it sometime in the near future with a much better focus. It was a bit of a mishmash. Thanks to all of you who did support it, I appreciate it.

Well, time for bed talk to you soon, hopefully with some better news.
