Huge progress last night on my latest strip, a page designed to be used for the new book. I finished writing it and laying out the word balloons. I inked all the lettering, inked all the panel borders and made tremendous headway with inking in the contents of the panels. I still have to ink all the figures in but I did a tremendous amount of work last night. Just sat down and started working and before I knew a couple of hours had flown by. I even sat at the drawing table for about 20 more minutes before bed! So a lot of progress was made. If I can get this one done by the end of the week, it will be a very quick turn around for me. I used to pump one of these out every week. I would be happy now if I could get one done every month. It has taken me longer lately, but I feel like I am gaining momentum and starting to get that old spark going again! A good feeling to have.

Talk to you soon,

Howdy folks,

I made a lot of good headway on my latest page this week. I finished pencilling all 9 of the panels and I have written in about half of the dialogue. once I am done writing it, I can bust out the ink and start slapping it on for dramatic effect!

more soon!

Finally! I am getting off my duff and making ANTI-SOCIAL LAWNMOWER a priority for the last half of the year. I started to write some of the internal stuff that is going to go with the book just this last week. The first bit is a comic strip about how I came up the name of the book. In every book I have published so far (a total of four) I have spent a bit of time in the author's note describing the circumstances or reasoning behind the title of the book. This will be the first time that I mark the occasion by telling it in comic strip format. I have decided that I will have several such "vignettes" sprinkled throughout the pages. I haven't decided exactly how many or what topics just yet but probably 5 or 6 of them total. I am still looking to do about 200 pages total for the length of the book, but I will let the work decide for me how long it will be. It could be longer! Yikes!

In the meantime, I am considering selling off the remainder of my collection of books that I have left from my previous publishing excursions to help fund this little hobby of mine. I hope that you are all strapped in for this. I plan on sharing my progress here as it happens, and of course showing off some of the new stuff at my website which is still under re-construction. check it out here.

ciao for now sahib,

You knew it was bound to happen sooner or later, someone has created "Teresa Says Shove It!" tee-shirts! in commemoration of Teresa Heinz-Kerry's comments from last week. Looks like this joker even added some new meaning by creating a thong as well! Check it out!

yer late-night pal,
